2021 Annual Report

We’re making an impact.

It’s been an honor to be a resource for so many throughout this unprecedented year. We responded to a global pandemic and national emergencies, while also serving our existing community’s needs.

Kindred Box did this while earning distinctions for transparency and efficiency, and was awarded a Silver rating from Guidestar.

Bettering our community is an important part of who we are. It's a commitment to giving back and being there in times of need.

As a supporter, you made that possible. You are the reason we accomplished so much in 2021 and are able to continue our mission.

  • 497 applied for assistance with ostomy supplies in 2021

  • ~74% of applicants live below the U.S. Federal poverty guidelines

  • The #1 reason for help is that ostomy supplies are unaffordable

Christina in Virginia

“Not only were we drowning in medical debt, but when my husband lost his job our family lost health insurance. I couldn’t afford to pay for my son’s ostomy supplies. I’m so thankful for help from Kindred Box.”

53,785 ostomy and wound care supplies were distributed through our programs.

Supplies Distributed

We’re grateful for corporate supporters committed to furthering our mission.

William in Texas

“I had colostomy surgery because of colon cancer. I have no insurance because I'm unemployed right now. You have no idea what a blessing you are to people in need of supplies. I am so grateful for Kindred Box.”

Environmental Impact

Throwing away unused medical equipment in good condition generates waste in landfills. By donating ostomy supplies before they expire, we can all help restore our Earth.

We collected over 5,000 pounds of new medical supplies in 2021.

Landfills contain tons of new and unused medical supplies. The World Health Organization states that of the total amount of waste generated by healthcare activities, about 85% is general, non-hazardous waste. By donating supplies before they expire, we can all help restore our earth.
